Day 6 Dec. 29th (Canon XSi)

Damon's photos around Aswan. This long day included visits to the unfinished obelisk, the high damn, and the temple of Philae. We took a felucca to Kitchener Island to visit the botanical gardens there, then we added a city tour, which took us further up the Nile through the first cataract to a Nubian village to have Hibiscus tea and fresh made bread with "black honey" or what we call molasses. Amber also held a pet crocodile and convinced Damon to at least pet it. We stopped at a coffee shop for sunset pictures and some kitties decided that they liked us. After sunset, we visited the Nubian Museum and a mosque that President Nasser built for the workers during the construction of the High Damn. The mosque was beautiful and they were very welcoming. We ended the night with some "goodbye" photos with our guide for the Luxor to Aswan portion, Ahmed.
